Collection: Henri Bonneau

Henri Bonneau came from a family of winemakers spanning twelve generations. He passed away in 2016; he was one of the most respected winemakers in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, producing wines of exceptional quality with a unique personality.

The six-hectare vineyard is planted mainly with Grenache (85%) complemented by a little Mourvèdre, Counoise and Vaccarèse, cultivated in a natural way.

Henri Bonneau never considered organic farming, because he cultivated his vines as in the days before chemistry was invented: no chemicals, low yields, grapes harvested at perfect ripeness, fermentation with indigenous yeasts, and very long aging periods of 4 to 10 years. His wines stand out for their great complexity and, above all, remarkable finesse, almost astonishing given their high concentration.
