Collection: Brij Wines - Rajat Parr

Brij Wines is Rajat Parr's négociant project on the Central Coast of California.

The grapes come from organically farmed plots cultivated by winemaker friends, primarily around the SLO Coast. These locations are chosen for their proximity to the ocean, their cool climate, and their ability to produce lean wines, far from the sun-drenched expressions sometimes associated with California.

In the cellar, Rajat Parr works with the same sensibility as for Phelan Farm.

Harvesting and vinification are done by hand, using native yeasts. The wines are neither fined nor filtered. Aging takes place in old barrels, with minimal intervention, gravity movements, and little to no added sulfur.

Brij explores several grape varieties and territories on the California coast, without seeking to impose a single signature. Each wine retains the fruit, energy, and spontaneity of its origin.

Immediately drinkable, delicate, and saline wines, deeply Californian in their energy, but European in their finesse and their relationship to the raw material.

I would keep that last sentence: it very accurately summarizes Brij's positioning relative to Phelan Farm.
