South of the Saint-Joseph appellation, on the granite slopes of Saint-Jean-de-Muzols, Christian Rouchier cultivates a discreet estate of barely three hectares. A handful of steep plots, meticulously worked with artisanal precision, where each vine receives almost individual attention.

Here, nothing seeks to impress. The soil is worked by horse when the terrain requires it, harvests are done by hand, fermentations rely on indigenous yeasts, and aging takes place in old barrels that accompany the wine without ever marking it.

This discretion in both viticulture and winemaking choices allows the granite of Saint-Jean-de-Muzols to fully express itself. Christian Rouchier's wines do not seek power or ostentation. They prioritize energy, tension, and fruit precision.

His Syrahs are now among the most elegant expressions of Saint-Joseph: slender wines, infused with a mineral freshness, where black fruits, spices, and warm stone notes create a perfectly balanced whole. An interpretation of the Northern Rhône that captivates more by its finesse than by its strength.
