Collection: Cantalapiedra Viticultores
In the village of La Seca in Castilla y León, the Cantalapiedra family has been cultivating a great grape variety, Verdejo, since the 19th century. The continental climate and high altitude (750m) of this terroir make it the place where Verdejo can reveal its full complexity, provided it is cultivated with exacting standards.
Manuel Cantalapiedra, the current head of the estate, began isolating 7 hectares of his best plots as early as 2014, at a time when the rest of the Rueda appellation was moving towards a production-driven model resulting in standardized wines. Organic certification, biodynamic practices in the vineyard, fermentation with indigenous yeasts, and minimal sulfur doses have allowed Cantalapiedra wines to reach new heights.
