Collection: Thibaud Capellaro

Established in the northern Rhône Valley since 2018, Thibaud Capellaro 's wines have won us over with their sincerity, the natural sensation of tasting grapes straight from the vine. Of course, this straightforwardness and simplicity can sometimes border on the commonplace. However, they are often the hallmark of talent with an artistic depth.
Thibaud does not come from a winemaking family. Making wine is a decision he made after his studies. Lacking vineyards of his own, Thibaud sources organic grapes from winemakers in the Ardèche (Gérald Oustric), the Côteaux du Lyonnais, Roussillon, and Italy.
His philosophy is based on minimal intervention in order to express the typicity of the grape variety and terroir . His winemaking is natural, allowing indigenous yeasts to carry out the alcoholic fermentations. He uses a wide range of containers to age his wines, from old barrels to ceramic amphorae, as well as fiberglass and stainless steel tanks.
All of Thibaud's wines since the 2019 vintage have a distinctive personality, a signature style all his own. We are excited to soon discover the other part of the project that drives Thibaud: his Côte-Rôtie cuvée, from vines he has acquired. This project is ambitious, not only financially, as he has also created terraces to accommodate his vines on previously uncultivated plots. In the meantime, let's enjoy his wines made with his négociant business, Slope—everything in the Rhône Valley is about slope.
