Collection: Simon Faure
Just a few kilometers from Vergisson and the Roche de Solutré, the landscape already changes. The slopes become cooler, the exposures later, the valleys retain more moisture, and the limestones sink beneath deeper clays.
Here, Chardonnay develops a different expression: less sunny, straighter, more saline, with an energy that seems to come directly from the rock.
This is the Burgundy that Simon Faure seeks to express.
Based in the south of the Mâconnais region, he belongs to a new generation of winemakers who prioritize the precision of the terroir over any search for effect. The vinifications remain intentionally low-interventionist to allow each plot to express its own unique balance.
The aging process accompanies the wine without ever dominating it. Nothing is sought to impress; everything aims to preserve the tension, relief, and readability of the place.
Simon Faure's wines show great restraint. The body remains fine, the textures are chiseled, and the finishes are long and saline. These Chardonnays impress less with their showiness than with their accuracy, and vintage after vintage, they reveal an already remarkably strong identity.
