Collection: Bel Air Marquis d'Aligre
Château Bel Air Marquis d'Aligre is a vineyard spanning 13 hectares. Situated on gentle gravelly slopes, the vineyard is divided in two: one section in Soussans next to the château, and the other adjacent to the Pavillon Blanc vineyards of Château Margaux. The blend is composed of 35% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, 10% Petit Verdot, and 5% Malbec.
Only 30,000 bottles are produced each year. The winery consists of simple concrete tanks. Of the 70 vintages that Jean-Pierre Boyer has vinified, fermentations have always started naturally, even in cold years, slowly without external intervention, finishing gently after approximately 5 weeks of maceration.
The Bel Air Marquis d'Aligre is aged in vats until May. Then, the wine spends a short time in barrels for only 5 to 6 months without new oak to soften its character, and then returns to vats for 2 years.
Jean-Pierre Boyer thus seeks the exclusive expression of his terroir without any outside influence. The wines of Château Bel Air Marquis d'Aligre are aimed at connoisseurs seeking finesse and elegance.
