This specific vineyard site within the Château Chalon appellation is exceptional for its terroir, its seclusion, and the low yields of its vines, some over 70 years old. After meticulous sorting of the grapes, this Savagnin was vinified and then aged in barrels for 30 months.
La Vigne aux Dames is a topped-up (non-oxidative) savagnin with a complex aromatic profile, at once rich, taut and mineral, fruity and herbaceous, with notes of citrus and dried fruit, subtly honeyed and saline.
