Collection: Champagne Pierre Deville
In Verzy, an emblematic Grand Cru of the Montagne de Reims, Pinot Noir possesses a singular voice. More vertical than demonstrative, deeper than powerful. This is the interpretation of the terroir that Alban Corbeaux pursues with remarkable accuracy at Domaine Pierre Deville.
The story began in 1963, when his great-grandfather founded the family estate. In 2017, Alban took over the reins with a simple idea: to reveal the potential of these 6 hectares without ever forcing it. The vines, already organically farmed, became the starting point for a broader reflection on living things. Soil work, biodiversity, more precise ripeness, spontaneous fermentations, long aging, and reduced interventions: each choice aims to accompany the wine rather than shape it.
This approach is expressed in Champagnes of great clarity. The aging brings depth without masking the origin. Dosages remain measured. The texture remains slender, carried by chalky energy, a silky texture, and that saline tension which characterizes the most beautiful terroirs of Verzy.
There is something particularly touching about Pierre Deville's wines. They never seek to impress. They slowly settle in the glass, gain complexity with aeration, and reveal with rare sincerity the balance between a great Champagne terroir and a new generation of winemakers who prefer listening to showing off.
Today, Pierre Deville stands out as one of Verzy's most promising names. Precise, luminous, and deeply vibrant Champagnes that largely deserve their place among the estates to watch very closely in Champagne.
