Collection: Ça Boit Libre - Damien Bastian

Damien Bastian is part of a generation of winemakers who inherited nothing but immense freedom. The freedom to choose their land, their grape varieties, their cultivation methods, and above all, their way of looking at wine.

His estate, Ça Boit Libre, is nestled on the hillsides of Crépy and Marignan, a stone's throw from Lake Geneva. Here, glacial moraines meet limestone, winds from the Alps cool the vines, and the lake's light accompanies each vintage. Savoy reveals a surprisingly delicate side, far from the caricatures of mountain wines.

Before becoming a winemaker, Damien Bastian was an agronomist. He worked far from vineyards, in Chad, before wine became an obvious path. Meetings with Dominique Lucas and then Jean-François Ganevat finally shaped his vision: viticulture where one accompanies more than directs, where every decision seeks to preserve the energy of the grape rather than to mold it.

Since taking over his first vines in 2018, the estate has grown without ever compromising on this demanding approach. The soils are alive, treatments are limited to the bare minimum, harvests are manual, fermentations start naturally, and aging takes its time in containers that know how to fade into the background, letting the wine speak for itself. Nothing is showy, nothing is spectacular. Everything is designed to let the place express itself.

This restraint is found in every bottle. The Chasselas vibrate with an almost lacustrine salinity, the Altesse gain depth without losing their sparkle, the Gamays and Pinot Noirs always prioritize freshness, movement, and delicacy. These are wines that never seek to impress but captivate, glass after glass, with their accuracy.

We deeply appreciate this new Savoy. A Savoy that looks forward without forgetting where it comes from. With Ça Boit Libre, Damien Bastian signs one of its most luminous expressions: free, precise, deeply alive wines that seem to carry within them the breath of the mountains and the serenity of Lake Geneva.
