Collection: Julie & Jeremy Recchione

In Burgundy, some inherit an estate.

Julie and Jérémy Recchione first inherited a keen eye.

The kind acquired after thousands of hours spent in others' vineyards. Observing a plot evolve with the seasons. Understanding that a Pinot Noir never tells the same story depending on soil depth, slope, or the light of a vintage.

Before having their own vines, they learned to read those of others.

Jérémy's journey began in 2010 at Domaine Pierre Naigeon, in Gevrey-Chambertin. After studying management, earning a viticulture degree, and gaining experience in Australia, he discovered a Burgundy very different from the highly ranked ones: a Burgundy of actions, observation, and patience.

In 2013, he signed his first winemaking efforts. Just a few barrels, made from grapes from plots he knew intimately. Not because he already owned them, but because he worked with them throughout the year. Before being a winemaker, Jérémy is a man of the vines.

The purchase, in 2019, of a first plot of Aligoté in Messanges marked the true starting point of the estate. Gradually, other vines complemented the project. Then a winery, in Marey-lès-Fussey. Finally, Julie officially joined the adventure. The estate naturally became that of Julie & Jérémy Recchione: a project built by two, seamlessly, as the logical continuation of a path begun several years prior.

In the vineyard, nothing seems dictated by the pursuit of a style. Organic farming is an obvious choice, harvests are manual, and every decision primarily seeks to preserve the grape's identity.

The same restraint guides the cellar work. Fermentations are spontaneous, aging takes its time — currently in stoneware jars and old barrels for whites, mainly in barrels for reds — while sulfur is used sparingly.

This discretion in action is naturally reflected in the wines.

The whites possess a luminous freshness, a delicate texture, and a salinity that prolongs the tasting without ever making the wine heavy. The Pinot Noirs prioritize grain finesse, fruit precision, and the expression of the place over ostentation.

At Julie & Jérémy Recchione, Burgundy is not a collection of prestigious climats.

It's a continuous learning process.

That of a landscape observed before being interpreted. That of a grape accompanied before being transformed.

Wines of character rather than effect.

Wines whose precision comes less from what the winemakers add than from everything they choose not to do.
