Collection: Domaine de l'Iserand
At Jean-François “Jef” Malsert’s , everything vibrates.
The whites have that ample, mineral texture that we thought was lost.
The reds , on the other hand, combine drinkability, energy and depth — a dance between spices, black olive and warm granite.
And all at still affordable prices … a real breath of fresh air in the northern Rhône.
A story of reinvention and conviction
In 2017 , Jef turned the page on his wine bar Les Carafes en Folie (Tournon-sur-Rhône) to move to the other side of the counter.
He took over his grandfather's old Syrah vines and founded Domaine de l'Iserand in Sécheras , on the hillsides of Ozon and Arras .
Today, 7 hectares perched at 350 m altitude , on a patchwork of granites, gneiss, mica-schists and loess .
Vines worked by hand, sometimes with a winch or a mule , nourished with herbal teas of horsetail and nettle .
Unadorned wines, with a vibrant purity .
