Rablay-sur-Layon is one of the greatest Chenin Blanc terroirs, and happens to be the direct neighbor of the illustrious Montbenault . In 2013, newly retired Marie-Claude and Dominique Dufour decided to take over the family farm, including its plot of vines planted in the 1980s in the lieu-dit "Les Aussiguoins." This 1.4-hectare Chenin Blanc plot was then leased, half to Kenji and Maï Hodgson. With the other half, Marie-Claude and Dominique produced their first vintage in 2014. From the outset, " Experto … R ," their sole dry Chenin Blanc cuvée, proved remarkably refined and taut, hallmarks of Chenin Blanc's elegance. These young winemakers are pursuing their dream by recently taking over the entire vineyard.
