Mourvèdre is rarely associated with coastal California. Yet, on the hillsides of San Benito County, it finds a unique balance, influenced by the Pacific Ocean and temperature variations that preserve its freshness.
ENZ Mourvèdre 2024 expresses this lighter, more ethereal facet of the grape. The nose opens with black cherry, fresh plum, and wild berries, enhanced by notes of black pepper, garrigue, and a slightly smoky touch.
The palate is lithe, without heaviness. The texture remains supple, the tannins are fine, and the finish, saline and spicy, prolongs the wine beautifully.
A luminous interpretation of Mourvèdre, built more on tension and drinkability than on power.
