Misturado 2023

Misturado is undoubtedly the cuvée that best encapsulates the spirit of Scythian Wine Co.

A blend inherited from the old plantations of Cucamonga, where grape varieties once coexisted in the same plot before being harvested and vinified together. Alicante Bouschet, Palomino, and Zinfandel echo each other here just as they did over a century ago.

The nose opens with red berries, pomegranate, blood orange, and dried herbs. Gradually, notes of withered flowers, sweet spices, and a slightly saline touch emerge.

On the palate, the wine surprises with its finesse. Despite the California sun, the texture remains light, almost ethereal. Palomino brings tension, Alicante Bouschet a delicate framework, while Zinfandel extends the wine with vibrant fruit and a fresh finish.

A free, unadorned red that tells another California story: that of the century-old vineyards of Cucamonga.
