The 2021 vintage will be remembered as one of the most demanding of recent decades in Savoie. A cool year, marked by frost and slow ripening, which nevertheless gave birth, among the most attentive winemakers, to wines of remarkable energy.
Mon Blanc 2021 is a magnificent illustration of this. Damien Bastian lets the Chasselas grape tell the story of this unique year without trying to embellish it. The low alcohol content, a natural consequence of the vintage, becomes a real quality here: the wine gains in brilliance, fluidity, and precision.
The nose evokes spring flowers, fresh lemon, crisp apple, and a slight chalky note. On the palate, it's all about balance. The texture remains delicate, almost crystalline, supported by a chiseled acidity that extends the wine to a saline finish of great purity. It's a wine that quenches thirst as much as it makes you think, with that sensation of lightness that characterizes great Chasselas wines.
A cuvée that reminds us that depth is never measured by richness, but by a wine's ability to transmit its landscape with sincerity.
