The Altesse grape possesses the rare ability to combine richness and tension without ever losing its balance. With Mon Blanc de la Haute 2022, Damien Bastian delivers a pure expression of this grape, faithful to the identity of the Savoie hillsides.
The grapes come from the terroirs of Haute-Savoie, where glacial moraine soils and the proximity of Lake Geneva provide natural freshness to the wine. Vinified with minimal intervention, the cuvée is pressed directly, fermented with indigenous yeasts, then aged in old barrels to preserve the full personality of the grape.
The nose reveals notes of white flowers, fresh pear, citrus zest, and a subtle hint of almond. The palate quickly gains depth without ever becoming heavy. Here, the Altesse grape expresses all its nobility: a delicate texture, a pronounced mineral tension, and a saline finish that prolongs the tasting experience.
A luminous and refined interpretation of this great Savoie grape, revealing more of the landscape from which it originates than the hand of the winemaker.
