Les Monts de la Vallée perfectly embodies Antoine Bouvet's vision: champagnes where the terroir expresses itself without artifice, with remarkable precision and energy.
This blanc de noirs is made from 40-year-old Pinot Noir grapes, grown on the Premier Cru terroirs of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, Avenay-Val-d'Or, and Bisseuil. These three emblematic villages of the Marne Valley are where the chalk imparts a saline tension to the wines, naturally balancing the generosity of the grape variety.
The 2022 vintage reveals ripe and luminous fruit, evoking fresh cherry, redcurrant, and citrus. The palate combines depth and finesse, carried by a discreet bubble and a slender texture that extends into a long, chalky, and salivating finish.
Vinified and then aged eight months in oak barrels, before continuing its evolution for thirty-six months on lees, Les Monts de la Vallée gains complexity without ever losing the freshness and vibrancy that characterize Antoine Bouvet's wines. A gastronomic champagne, already accessible, but which will continue to reveal itself with a few years in the cellar.
