Experto R 2020

There is an obvious quality to Experto R. That of a Chenin that never seeks to seduce with opulence, but with precision. The old vines, planted in the 1980s on this hillside in Rablay-sur-Layon where schists mingle with volcanic spilites, give birth to a wine deeply imbued with its origin.

The nose opens with notes of lime blossom, honeysuckle, white flowers, and ripe citrus. Then the wine gains depth. The palate is straight, slender, carried by a silky texture and a mineral energy that accompanies each sip. The finish, long and intensely saline, clearly demonstrates the unique terroir of Les Aussiguoins.
