Poulsard Chalasses Vieilles Vignes 2023
In Les Chalasses, in the southern Revermont, old vines take root in grey and white marls. Poulsard is joined by a small proportion of Enfariné, an ancient Jura grape variety preserved by Jean-François Ganevat. He crafts a red whose finesse gradually reveals its depth. Fruit, flowers and spices form an expression closely tied to this terroir.
The winemaking favours gentle handling, with spontaneous fermentation and restrained extraction. Wild strawberry and redcurrant emerge first, joined by hints of peony and white pepper. With air, the aromatic palette unfolds and gains definition while retaining its freshness.
On the palate, tender fruit meets a very fine tannin structure. The fruit carries through with precision, sustained by freshness that runs through the wine and gives it momentum. Floral and spicy nuances linger in a long, mouthwatering finish.
A Poulsard of texture and depth, whose presence builds through delicacy.
