La Chaux 2022

On this small plot, François Rousset-Martin tends to an old Chardonnay vine, and its thirty months of barrel aging are not meant to polish the wine or impose a style. They simply allow time to reveal the personality of the place.

The 2022 vintage combines a generous body with candied citrus, a touch of wax, and notes of toasted sesame. Then the wine changes pace. A remarkable acidity gradually takes hold of the palate, tightening the texture and stretching it out with an almost disconcerting clarity.

La Chaux impresses precisely with this constant contrast. The more ample the wine appears, the more precise it becomes. A profound interpretation of Jura Chardonnay, where the energy of the terroir always triumphs over the richness of the vintage.
