At François Rousset-Martin, Mémé Marie is never quite the same. The name remains, but the wine evolves with the vintages. The blend changes, the proportions shift, the balance is redefined. Nothing is set in stone.

In 2022, Chardonnay plays a more significant role, while Savagnin provides its backbone. Both come from the Sous-Roche plot, at the foot of Château-Chalon, and benefit from the same thirty months of aging as the estate's great single-vineyard cuvées.

The wine progresses with astonishing serenity. Dried fruits, fresh herbs, citrus zest, and spicy nuances intertwine in a texture that is both ample and graceful. Nothing is ostentatious. Everything seems to naturally find its place, carried by a discreet tension that accompanies the wine to its long finish.

Mémé Marie is perhaps the cuvée that best summarizes François Rousset-Martin's philosophy. A wine that rejects certainties, preferring to let each vintage write its own story.
